About ECAT

Why ECAT

As per the directives of the Government of Punjab since 1999, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has been conducting the combined Entrance Test (ECAT) for admission to public sector engineering institutions in Punjab. According to multiple notifications issued by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), this entrance test is mandatory for admission into undergraduate engineering programs in both public and private engineering institutions. This is the first ECAT of the year. In compliance with PEC instructions, applicants will be allowed multiple attempts, and their best score will be considered for determining merit during the admission process. The scores obtained in this ECAT will remain valid for admission to UET for the Fall 2025 semester. The ECAT serves as a common entrance test for admission to B.Sc. Engineering programs across Punjab, as well as for computing and other disciplines where it is applicable for admission to UET Lahore.
